Tidepool

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 August 2026

Tidepool is a single-player puzzle game. Gameplay, progress, and settings stay on your device. There is no Tidepool account.

The app shows Google AdMob ads (a banner, and an optional rewarded video on some levels and on the loss sheet). Those ads, and related analytics, are why this policy lists data. The game itself remains playable offline.

Data collected for ads and analytics

We do not ask for your name, email, or an account. Google’s Mobile Ads SDK and analytics may collect the following from the device, as declared in the app’s privacy manifest and in Google’s App Store data disclosure:

  • Device ID — such as the advertising identifier (IDFA) when you allow tracking. Used for third-party advertising and analytics. Linked to the user; used for tracking.
  • Advertising data — ads you have seen or interacted with. Used for third-party advertising. Linked to the user; used for tracking.
  • Product interaction — taps and other in-app interactions used to serve and measure ads, analytics, and app functionality. Linked to the user; not used for tracking.
  • Crash data and performance data — diagnostics such as crash logs, launch time, and similar SDK metrics. Used for app functionality and analytics. Linked to the user; not used for tracking.
  • Coarse location — a general location estimated from IP address, used for ads and analytics. Linked to the user; not used for tracking.
  • Other usage data — a pseudonymous app instance ID plus app version, device model, OS, and locale for analytics. Not linked to an identity we hold; not used for tracking.

We do not sell this data. Google uses it to serve, measure, and improve ads. See Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Tracking and consent

Tidepool requests App Tracking Transparency. If you allow tracking, ads may be personalized using the advertising identifier. If you deny or restrict tracking, ads are requested as non-personalized (npa=1).

In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Google’s consent form is shown when required. If you refuse, ads are not requested and the game is unchanged. You can change that choice from Privacy options in Settings while the form is still required.

Data stored on your device

Progress, settings, and earned boosters are saved locally in the app’s Application Support directory. You can erase them with Reset Progress in Settings, or by deleting the app. That local save is not sent to us.

Children

Tidepool is rated 4+ and is appropriate for all ages. Ads are served by Google AdMob. We do not ask children for personal information or create accounts. Parents can decline tracking, refuse the consent form where it is shown, and use device-level ad settings.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the App Store privacy labels before that version ships. The current build’s machine-readable declaration is PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy inside the app bundle: tracking on, with the data types listed above.
